    Live streaming for symposia is only available to international sites.

    Evening Medical Updates (EMUs)
    Live streaming for EMUs is available to both UK and international sites.

    Basic requirements
    • Up-to-date browser (see table below)
    • Adobe Flash may be required for streaming on PC/laptops (see table below)

      Live streaming uses two streaming protocols: HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) or HTTP Dynamic Streaming (HDS). Both protocols use the normal browser port for transmitting data, so if you can browse the internet you should be able to watch a live stream.

      If you are streaming using Adobe Flash we recommend using the latest (version 27), but version 11.2 + should work.

      Android notes

      On some devices the stream will not start automatically and you will need to press play (if you are asked which application to open it with, ‘Videos’ is generally the default option available on Android).

        Once loaded the live streaming player should look like the below image.

        The streaming player controls allow you to adjust volume and toggle full screen view . You may select an alternative stream (high, medium or low) at any time.

        • Troubleshooting

          • This stream will detect your connection and recommend the best setting for you. You may select an alternative stream (high, medium or low) at any time.
          • If the player does not appear try a page refresh (F5)
          • If you do not have permission to install Flash or update your browser you will need to talk to your IT dept/system administrator
          • Add the following domains to your permitted sites/whitelist:
            • wowza.com
            • learning.rcpe.ac.uk
