      YouTube is a popular source of videos, but it should be used with care. Videos may be uploaded illegally without the rights holder’s permission.

      Best practice is to only use videos from verified channels such as the BBC, using the YouTube player embed code provided.

      Other sources of video

      Open licence videos: Wikimedia Commons hosts video clips under a number of open licences.

      Television (TV): RCPE does not own an Educational Recording Agency (ERA) Licence and therefore you cannot legally make recordings or copies of television programmes for educational use. You cannot show or copy material from on-demand TV services such as BBC iPlayer.

      Digital Video Discs (DVDs): The use of DVDs should not be necessary for medical education purposes.
